Since its founding in 2013, K2A has had a clear focus: to be Sweden’s green real estate company. By combining strong business performance with ambitious sustainability goals, the company has received repeated recognition from external stakeholders, industry initiatives, and independent reviewers.

Studentbostadspriset (Sweden's Student Housing Award)

K2A’s student housing development Generatorn in Linköping was named Sweden’s best new student housing project – an award in which sustainability is a key criterion. K2A’s properties Hinderbanan in Gävle and Luftseglaren in Barkarbystaden have previously been shortlisted.
(The award was presented in 2024 and applies to developments completed by 2023)

Symbiosis Award

K2A became the first company to win the Symbios Award twice. The award recognises Swedish companies that demonstrate responsible business and successfully convert sustainability work into business value. K2A first received the award in 2022.

Byggnadsmärket (Järfälla's Building and Architecture Award)

K2A’s student housing property Luftseglaren was awarded the municipality’s Byggnadsmärket for architectural, cultural, and environmental value.

GRESB #2 Listed Residential

K2A was ranked #2 globally among listed residential real estate companies in GRESB, one of the world’s most widely used ESG benchmarking tools for infrastructure and real estate.

Nasdaq ESG Transparency Partner

K2A received the ESG Transparency Partner certification for the first time – an award for companies with strong ambition and performance in sustainability disclosure, making relevant ESG data available to investors.

Best Sustainability Report

Symbios Award

World’s First Green Share

K2A co-developed the world’s first Green Equity Framework with Shades of Green. This led to K2A becoming the first company globally to have its shares classified as green.

Nasdaq Green Equity Designation

K2A was among the first companies in Sweden to qualify for Nasdaq’s Green Equity Designation. In 2024, K2A chose to focus on reporting under its own Green Equity Framework, which covers all Nasdaq criteria.

Swan Ecolabel and Miljöbyggnad iDrift Certifications

K2A holds a license to build Nordic Swan Ecolabelled properties, a standard that has guided new development since 2018. The existing portfolio is certified under Miljöbyggnad iDrift. As of the end of 2024, 89% of the company’s property value was certified, with an additional 10% in the certification process.
