“The Student Housing Award is a fantastic prize to be nominated for because the jury looks at the whole picture – from student needs and well-being to environmental sustainability aspects. I am very proud that we are considered to have one of the three best new student housing projects in Sweden again this year,” says Johan Knaust, CEO of K2A.
Last year, K2A’s student housing project in Gävle, Hinderbanan, was nominated for the 2021 Student Housing Award. The Student Housing Award is arranged by Studentbostadsföretagen – the Swedish association for student housing operators – and awarded to a student housing project that uses innovation, sustainability and design to meet the needs of this customer group and strengthen higher education.
In the motivation for K2A’s nomination, Studentbostadsföretagen highlights that the student housing in Barkarbystaden “provides what students need and request space-efficiently – with high quality, and based on an inclusive process about what students request.” The other two nominations for the 2022 Student Housing Award are Bostäder i Borås, Glesvingen 17, in Borås and Studentbostäder i Norden, Träbyn, in Jönköping.
